Early Bird Song Book Program

Come together with sister Scouts at Camp DeWitt or The OVAL to “make new friends” from across GSHNJ and expand your Girl Scout song repertoire. Discover why Princess Pat didn’t sink, what Brownies keep in their pockets, and the Moose’s juice by working with veteran Girl Scouts to learn standards from the Great Girl Scout Songbook. Plus, you’ll tour camp and go home with a book of song lyrics. Your choice of arrival time at either camp: 10am, 11am, 12pm, or 1pm.

This FREE program is open to everyone who registered during the 2014 Early Bird Membership Registration period. All attendees must pre-register for the program. Parking is limited; carpooling is strongly recommended. Program runs rain or shine; dress accordingly and wear closed-toe shoes. Bring your membership registration confirmation and coupon with you to the program!

GSHNJ is recruiting Cadettes, Seniors, and Ambassadors to help lead songs at the Early Bird Song Book program. Do you know a fun Girl Scout or camp song that you’d like to teach to other Girl Scouts? This is a great opportunity to earn some service hours, spend a day at camp, and to meet other Girl Scouts in your council. For more information, or to volunteer, contact Jamie Kay Discher by September 7, 2014.

Upcoming Council Programs

All GSHNJ programs are open to both troops and individual girls. So any girl may attend any program she likes, even if the troop is not planning to attend as a group. She would just need to bring her own chaperone along (adult policies are listed in each program description in the Program Guide Book, the online calendar, and eBiz). This is especially important for troops that may not meet until later in the year—girls can still join in on programs, series, and events even if their troops haven’t met yet this year.

Everyone can find complete program, series, events, and trainings listings on our online calendar and eBiz. Also, the fall/winter Programs from the Heart guide is ready for viewing online! Additionally, we’re offering a new ON DEMAND opportunity for GSHNJ programming; you’ll find more information about that here.
